An LED strip light's illuminance (measured in lux) may be determined with the use of an IEC goniophotometer. Standards for photometric measurements, such as the measuring of illuminance from LED lighting devices, are provided by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The IEC goniophotometer has a rotating arm that it utilizes to measure the light coming from the LED strip light from a variety of different angles. A photometric distribution pattern is produced by the instrument when the illuminance (lux) of the light at each angle is measured.
