LED color test with an integrating sphere system

A light-emitting diode (LED) color test is a technique for analyzing and rating an LED's color output. In order to determine the spectral distribution of the light produced by an LED, a system based on an integrating sphere may be used to conduct a color test. Instructions for conducting such a test are outlined below.

  • Prepare the integrating sphere system, which comprises of the sphere itself, a photometer, and a spectrophotometer. Put these parts together in accordance with the manual.
  • The LED light should be installed within the integrating sphere with the light source pointing toward the center of the sphere.
  • Before beginning the test, calibrate the spectrophotometer as directed by the manufacturer. As a consequence, this action is required for reliable outcomes.
  • After the LED light has been fitted, switch it on and let it warm up before using it.
  • Use a spectrophotometer to determine how the light from the LED bulb varies throughout the visible spectrum. This metric, which is often shown as a graph or table, tells us how bright a light is as well as what hue it is.
  • Keep track of the data: Note down the readings from the spectral distribution measurement of the LED bulb.
  • Evaluate the LED light's spectral distribution measurement results against the ideal profile. Using this method, you may check whether the LED bulb's color output is satisfactory.
